Okaayyyy finally finished the Project Runway finale. Ok...

Andy
Yeah never really all too crazy about him, but he had some cool pieces throughout the season.
I was more interested in his own look for the finale. Love itt.

Gretchen
Ohh I don't know. They literally sell all of her stuff at Urban Outfitters. Which isn't bad in general - I love Urban just as much as the next hipster - she just really shouldn't have won $100,00 for it. Oh but wait, how could I forget since she mentions it every .5 seconds, she's so poooooooor and she just really needs this moneyyyyy and woe is Gretchennnn.
Nina and Michael thought she was spot on with fashion in the moment, and I would agree, but shouldn't designers be pushing what's "hot" now and moving the trends forward? I feel like I've been seeing her stuff for so long on blogs and in my sketches. I want something new!!
Oh your pleated slip skirt thing? I HAVE ONE IN CORAL. You pulled it off very nicely with your little black panties, but I can't exactly walk past my mom and out of the house like that. So I'm still trying to figure out how to make that slip work for me. But I digress.

Basically MONDO should have won. I love his sense of humor! Fashion should be funnn! It definitely wasn't "circusy"; it was crazy but still flattering and attractive.
I agree with Heidi and Jessica...The polk-a-dot dress is divine. And Mr. Kors, the long sleeves are great with it! It makes the back all the more dramatic.
I also loved Mondo's model, totally should have won...Oh wellll.

While it's clear that Jessica is wearing her line head to toe, may I ask, HEIDI, WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?
P.S. Nina, your shoes rock.

k PEACE.

I've been sick lately and I've been spending a lot of time a) in bed and b) on tumblr so I tie it together and post some pictures of beds from tumblr...how clever of me!

I'm going to pull my old day bed out of the attic and bring it up to the cottage and wrap Christmas lights around the iron. I love how cozy and fantastical it looks.
On a worksheet for art I was supposed to write down several places I feel comfortable...the first and only thing that came to mind was my bed. Since I have a laptop I could stay in my bed under the comforter with the shades closed for hours on end. I love my cave. And my room's trashed enough that I can find basically anything I need on my floor, within reaching distance. Not sure if I should be proud of this fact...

I really need to catch up with all the runways. I'm still stuck on Spring 2010...But to be fair that's what I'm seeing in the real world since everything takes so long to catch on. Like the raccoon tails at Louis Vuitton...

I actually saw this girl with one when I was at Starbucks this summer....Literally thought she was part of the Miley Cyrus crew that was filming down the street because it was so unusual to see in my suburb. But I guess she's at Pratt now so that explains that extraneous incident.

My friend Gina attempted to copy-cat but didn't have a tail so instead she pinned on a little patch of fur to her purse. It gave the impression that she tacked roadkill onto her denim pouch. But hey good effort. I think for the both of us our dressing is a little "conceptual" right now....

Then I saw Kurt had one hanging off his belt in Glee. Couldn't find a picture ... I don't think that's something most "Gleeks" really take note of.

And then Rumi had one. Which is what made me think of it all. Yay trains of thoughts!

My writing is extremely awkward lately. Which is perfect since I have to write a bunch of college essays in the very, very near future!

Chocolate Sunglasses!!!!! HIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No inspiration+No time+No motivation = No posts

But I got a lil' sumin' sumin' for yallz today!

First off I want this! Well in idea. In my fantasy closet. Where I could pull out the most fabulous clothes from dawn till dusk and it'd still be overflowing. But if I paired this backpack with my current closet it'd probably just come off looking straight-up juvenile, not playful and edgy or whatever.
But I mean come on it's the Wallace and Gromit Sheep! LIKE SO FRICKEN ADORABLE!
I love Walllace and Gromit. And clever little accessories. So umm this bag is...Oh right, perfect!

Good spastic.

Bad spastic.

The sad thing is, the Good is just some random party picture while the Bad was professionally styled for a movie. Granted, it was a Miley Cyrus movie so we can't expect too much, but really? I mean REALLY.
Equally as sad, most girls would probably opt for an outfit more similar to the Bad - lacey leggings/tights, jean shorts, ballet flats and thuper cuuuuute hair bow, all from Forever 21, of course. Because how can you go wrong with stuff from F21?!?!?

So my mommy sent me the link to "The uggliest shoes, well, ever" (btdubbs why are we not capitalizing the title words of the piece??) and there were some Lady Gaga favorites in there but these are by far the weirdest to me because I know average people actually wear them.
It's so natural, it's unnatural! Ah it's just one of those things that makes me uncomfortable to look at. It's just SO WRONG. But if you disagree and think nothing could be more right, go pick up a chic purple pair from REI for $110.
These are more poppin' than my lipgloss! All the boys'll be stoppin'.

I also love the caption from the slideshow about Uggs...."Uggs are like the cockroaches of ugly shoes, they just will not die."
Though, TRUE CONFESSION, I did wear my Uggs to get my manicure yesterday. Deborah Lippmann "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" because I know you're just dying to know what color I got. Gina got this intense dark blue by Butter London that I'm completely jealous of. With the coming of Fall it's time to put away the brights and go for the inky shades.

For my lovely friend, Angela, who has loved Betsey for as long as I've loved Angela.

Supposedly I had tea at the Plaza when I visited New York 10 years ago, and while I can't remember that, I do remember my Eloise books. They are so plush and silly and really just gorgeous to get lost in. The movie was devastating. As in, awful. As in I couldn't have imagined anything more completely opposite from how I envisioned it. But we just move on from that and remember Hilary Knight's charming illustrations instead!

So BETSEY got the honor of decorating Eloise's suite at the Plaza which is a huge task but I have faith in her and I feel like she's probably Eloise all-grown up so she I trust she found the spirit of the thing. I supposed I'll just have to book the suite for myself to make a well reasoned decision.
For Spring 2010 she showed her collection at the Plaza and HOW ADORABLE IS THIS?!?
Perrrrrrfect-o!

I would simply die if I went to tea at the Plaza with my friends in these dresses with all the petticoats etc. It's such a mad, frivolous fabulousness!
Of course we'd look completely silly but that would just make it all the more fun.

Ummm wait I never posted about my porcupine, Pete, did I? I never followed up on my New York post! WELL this Pete is my darling little ring I attempted to get in New York City but after a poorly executed but exciting hunt from the nOir showroom in the Garment District across town to a couple overpriced boutiques in SoHo proved unsuccessful I just ordered it offline once I got home. This was back in December. Now I'm finally sharing! And it's sold out now so poo poo for you, you should have spotted it on Style.com like I did! Having a stunning God Mother to buy it for you for Christmas would probably have helped you too.
All their rings are fabulous but I choose Petey because he seems like a good everyday companion. Yes? Of course!

Some other enticing ones...

Sometimes I'm glad I don't have money to spend. It's like when you really want a Love It Chocolate Devotion from Coldstone but you know that if you got it you would just devour it all and feel sick afterwards, so it's probably a good thing that you're too lazy to put pants on and drive over there. So instead you eat one of the peaches on the kitchen counter.

Ugh I'm such an awful mixture of lazy and/or uninspired lately. I have some really cool purchases to share, but that would require taking pictures. So I'll get to that soon, I promise! Because they're definitelyyyy pretty sweet.

Soo The Buried Life is coming back soon...Love those boys. So adorable and funny! I love boys. Anyway, apparently Ben...
...is dating Whitney Port.

WHY BEN, WHY???

OK
1) She has no personality.
2) She's gumpy.
3) She sucks at designing clothes.
4) The only reason she has her own line is because of her stupid show no one watches.
5) HER LIFELESS EYES!!!
Which are (not so) cleverly hidden behind sunglasses that are both buggy AND awfully square. Lauren's are strikingly similar but look 81 million times more appealing.

Nothing personal, Whitney.

My mom will probably read this post with disdain.

I love the peak-o-boo bras though (Is this the right saying??)! While not exactly school or interview appropriate, it looks so good! It's like....a little something something...but not too much. It's not like a hot pink cheetah pushup bra. Just a little lace...a little black...with a super cas outfit and some hard metal jewelry....loooove itttt.
Also, probably one of the best pictures of Taylor Momsen I've seen in awhile. And one of her more conservative outfits. Maybe it's all the Photoshopping. That is her, right?

Impractical clothing. Sure, I have some. I just bought a sheer slip yesterday that I plan to wear in the broad daylight. With sufficient layering, of course. Layering that actually covers something. Unlike at Rag and Bone.

Ok she's wearing a bra, dress AND sweater, possibly another layer, and you can still totally see her goodies! Something is very wrong here.

Now this look is better, at least on top. I love the crocheted top. And the bra actually does its job!
But the pants? I don't mind the knee pads. Despite the fact that knee pads are supposed to keep the knees from wearing out, not already be completely worn out the first time you wear them. That's not my issue. My issue is the crotch. WHY WOULD YOU WANT A SHEER CROTCH? I just don't understand. I really don't.

And um...Charlotte Ronson? So. We've got the transparent top. So of course we leave the jacket unbuttoned. And how do we style the sweater? As a skirt, derrr! How else would we wear a garment with sleeves? On our arms? Never!!

Oh dear I was doing so well for a while there and then slacked off with the start of school and all.

MTV music awards this Sunday? Live performance by Ke$ha (hopefully won't be as God-awful as her performance on SNL)? Going along with my new taste for pretty awful music....3OH!3, Never Shout Never, Matt & Kim... of course I appreciate a good Ke$ha hit. She's kind of complete trash, but in an appealing way? I can't believe she's 6' tall. I mean the little glitter covered, seemingly constantly-smashed Ke$ha I see on the computer and TV screens is pretty manageable, but to see all six feet of her in person would probably be a little bit of an overload. Her interviews with MTV are pretty amusing. She's interesting because it's just like, wtf? all the time. Kind of like Lady GaGa. But completely different.
Basically she's just really amusing.

I keep dreaming of the day when I won't spend seven hours lugging huge books around endless hallways and up and down staircases so I can actually wear gorgeous, outrageously high heels. But when that day comes, will I just get lazy and take a pass on the skyscrapers?

Pet peeve - watching someone else struggle in heels. If you can't wear them well, then don't wear them at all! They make cute flats for people exactly like you!

September 3rd?! Suddenly, Summer is over. No more hitching a ride through the city on my fellow-model-friend's bike or taking an outdoor shower with all my clothes + stilettos + RayBans on.

Because I obviously did these things.

Truly though it was an amazing summer and I can't really complain about it coming to an end. Still got a couple days left :) Which will all be spent doing summer work/procrastinating :(

School would be so much better if they served sushi in the cafeteria like in the Clique books. Just throwing that in there.
YUM.

Oh and this. Been stuck in my head for days. School would also be infinitely better if they actually played music I liked at the dances.

Some images from Tumblr that I've pulled. Mostly from my friends'. Just a little amusement.
