Did I mention I've been at the cottage? The weather's been beautiful and I've been out on the hammock by the lake nearly every day. Yesterday I floated away on a floatie. A tad frightening.

Examples of my beach attire.
Obviously, I have superb tan lines.

Ahhh haha. Ha. Ha. Those washers would not be so comfortable after a few minutes in the sun.
Doesn't project runway come back soon? I watch it every season and yet I don't think I could name a single winner. Unless that Hot Mess/Fierce/Christian kid won. Other than that, I'm blank.

Yeah yeah yeah I know I'm about 6 months behind on posting about the Fall ready to wear. Call me crazy, but I want to think about spring clothes when spring is approaching and fall clothes when fall is approaching!

For today, we'll admire a few coats.

all Burberry Prorsum

Chanel. I believe the puffs are faux fur.

Balmain's delicious brocade

Marc Jacobs' sweet vintage

Continuing with the Breakfast Club...
Bender...that classic bad boy who is secretly vulnerable, sympathetic and loveable. Who would have guessed? Har har. He's so appealing and magnetic. Rebel + Princess = True Love? Perrrrfect.

Also prefect: Ringwald's jacket and gloves. It's like, 'Of course I'm wearing gloves to 7am Saturday detention, what a silly question!'

Almost August...Time to finally get around to looking at the fall 2010 runways and start dreaming up my fall wardrobe. I waste a ridiculous amount of time clicking through online shops and paging through magazines, but I really don't enjoy actually buying things. The whole budget thing throws me off - partially because the only things I like are several hundred dollars, partially because I hate choosing between the things I both like and can actually afford.
Like these boots off the Free People website - all around $300, give or take.
I love boots, and want to invest in some good leather ones that will last me longer than a suede pair, but my occasional babysitting jobs don't quite meet the mark.

Oh and Bender? From the Breakfast Club? You know, that no-good punk who despised Claire for her wealth that he himself lacked? Well you can get his poor-boy-chic look for $248.

As long as we're throwing money around to get that "perfectly worn in" look, let's pass up a nice, fresh looking pair of Keds for $35 dollars in favor of...
..."Distressed Keds" for $54...

...or even better...
"Stained and Distressed Keds" for another 1o bucks more!
Because really, who can really bother with wearing in their own shoes anymore, anyway?

What are these models so interested in? An intriguing article? Or are they checking out an editorial or fashion spread that a fellow model is in? For a model, is looking through a magazine comparable to a high schooler searching through her yearbook to find pictures of her friends to laugh at or admire?

Target is pretty good at keeping up with trends and not butchering them even while keeping things affordable. Liiiike their sporty bathing suits.

Align Center

Cynthia Rowley designed some cute suits for Roxy...
...Nordstrom's stocked with some bright ones from TyrAlign Center, and Vogue's June issue highlighted surf inspired suits in the index, along with Blake Lively and even Hamish Bowles photographed in wetsuits.
Gotta wear it with a pocket square, obviously.

So, as I was trying on Target's one-piece earlier today, I decided that I like the sporty suits not just for their neon colors and unusual zippers, but because I can look as though I'm athletic and ready to catch a gnarly wave while all I'm really planning to do for the rest of the day is bake in the sun until I'm motivated enough to dip into the pool for a quick cool off, after which I will flop back onto my chaise.
